Hey guys,
This is my first blog. For my 17th birthday this year, I decided to take a trip to the nation's capital, Ottawa to visit my school of choice, Le Cordon Bleu. On Thurday, my friend and I boarded the greyhound bus for a five hour ride to Ottawa. The bus ride activities included watching a movie; eating plenty of junk food; and shifting in our chairs(the seats were really uncomfortable). On Friday, we went to Le Cordon Bleu(famous culinary academy) to take part in a demonstration class. The demonstration was done by the excecutive chef of the restaurant and the school. The process was fun to watch, and the sample dishes were really delicious. My friend and I stayed in Ottawa for the weekend looking at her universities(Carleton U, U of Ottawa). On Saturday, we decided to take a stroll in Byward Market. I fell in love!. The atmosphere of the area was intoxicating. We sampled cheeses at various deli's, saw fudge making at the chocolate factory, and tasted the best chocolate gunache tarte ever! When the fun was over, we were not looking forward to the five hour bus ride back to Toronto. To my surprise, the long ride seemed very comfortable. We were so exhausted from the trip, we were practically asleep before the bus left the station. Now back in Toronto, I would defintely encourage any youth to travel and explore different cities and culture. I have always had a facination with Yukon and the aurora borealis, I am thinking of finally making the trip next year!
